Melanie Hale

Melanie fell in love with yoga in 2004 while searching for some peace and well-being in her life. After practicing regularly, she began to feel the healing effects of the practice. As her body, mind and spirit began to change, she decided that she wanted to share this gift with others. She completed the RYT 200-hour Yoga Certification with Todd Norian and Anne Green in 2012 and began spreading the joy of yoga so that others can feel the healing effects of this practice. Melanie's purpose as a Yoga instructor is to assist anyone in their journey of yoga through participation in her classes.

  • Gentle Yoga
  • Our Gentle Yoga class invites you to enter the inner realm of freedom from stress, tension, mental and physical discomforts, and freedom from competition with others! Whether you are a beginner or experienced student, this is a perfect class to pause, breathe, and be present. With a slower flow, this class allows the instructor to place emphasis on stretching and coordination of breath with simplified asana, also focusing on feeling sensations and listening to the body. Busy minds and tight or tense bodies strongly welcomed.
    *Morning Gentle classes will be accompanied with the day’s sunshine and a more active flow than evening classes.

    Suitable for all levels. Beginners welcome! / Balancing classes: Vinyasa – All Levels, Power Vinyasa, Hour of Power

  • Candlelight Gentle Yoga
  • Our Gentle Yoga class invites you to enter the inner realm of freedom from stress, tension, mental and physical discomforts, and freedom from competition with others! Whether you are a beginner or experienced student, this is a perfect class to pause, breathe, and be present. With a slower flow, this class allows the instructor to place emphasis on stretching and coordination of breath with simplified asana, also focusing on feeling sensations and listening to the body. Busy minds and tight or tense bodies strongly welcomed.
    *Evening Gentle classes will be accompanied with soft candlelight and a gentler flow than morning classes.

  • Restorative Yoga
  • This practice is designed to restore the nervous system and help release deep seeded tensions from the body and mind. Deep restorative work improves joint mobility and range of motion, serving for excellent physical therapy. Postures are held with the assistance of props for extended periods of time, allowing the body to release and relax. Aromatherapy oils and light massage touch may be incorporated into select sessions. Students must be able to arrange their own props and move comfortably and safely on the floor. Class size is limited to the number of props needed so we recommend registering in advance.

  • Basic Beginners' Yoga
  • This two hour workshop will introduce beginning students to the basics, including: vocabulary, history, philosophy, postures/alignment principles, and breathing techniques of yoga. With the patience and support of Gentle/Restorative instructor Melanie, we'll provide a safe and comfortable environment for you to begin your journey. Existing practitioners also welcomed and encouraged; refine your practice and brush up on your yoga knowledge! There will be time to ask questions, meet new people, and a chance for individual class time with the instructor. Although a room of unfamiliar people and postures can be intimidating, it doesn't have to stop your practice! We are all on our own paths and we all create a practice that is unique to our body and soul.
     
    *After this workshop, you will have the knowledge and confidence to flow in a regularly scheduled class. We invite students to attend our Gentle, Candlelight Gentle, Restorative, and All Levels Vinyasa classes - all held at our West Spaulding Studio.
